The original version of this app idea is called the "Green Gas Saver", developed by www.theappleseedstore.com. It measures how hard you accelerate, and how hard you corner. I do appreciate your article on the importance of pollution. One of the reasons for low MPG is that most cars need not have all the gizmos that the car manufacturers load up into every day driving cars that people do not use or care for. These gizmos add weight and reduce the yield per gallon. More awareness and education at middle and high school level kids will shape the young minds to be better stewards of the environment.

Two things; first, any regular listener to NPR has the information on "jackrabbit starts and stops" through "CAR TALK," whose website contains other fuel saving ideas.

Second, I think we should turn half of all the "Stop" signs in American into "Yield" signs. Thus, allowing you to plan your route without having to stop at all.
