Nature Near You – App Created by the Nature Conservancy
Nature Near You is a free environmental app on the iTunes App Store created by Treeline Interactive in partnership with Nature Conservancy. The purpose of the environmental app is to help you explore the natural world around you via your smart phone. You can take your amateur photographing skills to the next level by capturing nature shots wherever in the world you may be. When you use the app to snap photos, you are sharing your experience with other nature lovers and your friends and family too (if you want).
Use the app to EXPLORE other peoples’ nature photos who’ve recently posted their pictures to the app by browsing the “Recent” category. While you are browsing other peoples nature photos, you can can easily go back to ones that you really liked by tagging photos as a favorite and going back to the “Favorites” section. Other ways you can have fun with app are by viewing the Photo of the Day or by submitting your best photos to Flickr to win your way to the top spot. Another cool feature is the ability to go in the Map View where you can view other photos from people all over the world.
Need Inspiration?
In the Visit section of the app, get inspired by allowing the app to locate your location and then show you a map with Nature Preserves near you. This is a pretty cool feature because if you are in an area you not familiar with, you can literally explore, photograph, and share your experience with people from all over the world.
And Finally, the Nature Conservancy is a non-profit after all, and so, in the Donate section they offer free downloadable backgrounds of scenic nature. You can also find information on Nature News and have the option to make a donation if you want to give back.
