The Basics
Solar energy is a renewable energy source because it comes from a source – the sun – that is never going to run out or be depleted. Any time the sun is shining, solar panels convert that sunshine into electricity that can then be used by your house in the place of coal or non-renewable sourced electricity.

You are essentially then reimbursed for the energy you are giving back to the power grid for other Australian homes to use. Each state has different solar energy buy back and solar bonus schemes, so make sure you look into what rebates are available to you through your energy supplier.

Installing a solar energy system in your home can take some initial investment, but you will enjoy both environmental and cost benefits in the long run. There are a number of solar energy companies that offer solar panels for purchase and installation.
