beTurtle: A green Social Networking Site

http://beturtle.com is a website that offers various resources for going green. It offers "green" zones where you can learn about topics such as pollution and global warming. I thought it was funny how in the pollution section they mentioned that the Hollywood sign is sometimes not visible due to L.A.'s horrible smog and pollution problem. Well over the summer when I was in Hollywood, this was the case. You could barely see the infamous Hollywood sign. I tried to take a picture but of course the smog was too thick to see the sign. The information zone is a great resource for those eager to pick up a little knowledge on the problems currently facing the world environmentally wise.

The main attraction of the site, is that it is green social networking site. So much like myspace it is a place where green users can all come together and make profiles about themselves while looking at other profiles. The site looks has a lot of little fun sections like polls, discussions on green topics, and a little green celebrity information. It also looks like it is getting ready to ramp up its site with new features that will surely be a hit. With a section on environmental bloggers and beTurtle board of advisers to help the site along.
