Millions of missing bees in Taiwan

Taiwan is experiencing extraordinary bee losses in the millions. The article I found is four days old, but why aren't people more upset about something like this. This is not only a great environmental disaster, but also a looming threat to our food supply worldwide. In three parts of Taiwan most of their bees are gone...around 10 million bees to be exact! A bee farmer in north east Taiwan reported 6 million bees gone for no reason! The Taiwanese government is reporting this mass die off of bees as an isolated incident, when clearly the rest of the world is also experiencing the same problem. All this has happened in the last two months. Someone needs to do something...and fast. I have covered the bee losses from the beginning in this blog and will continue to do so as I feel it is an important issue as the story progresses.

I did not herea of this before JT. I was heartbroken to hear about Monarch butterflies dying by the millions about 3 years ago during their migration. They were wiped out at that time because of their resting grounds being somehow tainted or fiddled with by human miscare.

The bee situation is so wrong!
I wonder if New Zealand has experienced the same thing?

I guess I should be glad I stopped using their honey products last year (I now use only stevia).

    keep up the work

Great link, it really brings all the information together. I am aware of all the theories as to why people think the honeybee is disappearing. There are many possibilities that may all be contributing in their own way. This situation is not very widely publicized, which indicates some suspicion on my part. I only hope that this issue can be solved before a worldwide famine occurs.
